Controlling Your Body Fat Percentage

Sometimes we become conscious of our figure and we become unnecessarily fearful that we are getting unhealthily fat. When that happens, consult with your doctor to know if you are beyond the ideal body fat percentage for your age and sex. In most cases, it will be just a false alarm – when you age, the amount of fat reserves in your body increases also but it is not necessarily unhealthy. But given the supply of fatty foods in the market today and the drastic lifestyle change of the populace, you may be having more fat in your body than what is necessary and helpful.

To lose body fat fast, many people resort to intense body work-out and intense food-intake decrease. Others may resort to “programs” that promise you to lose fat in just a few weeks or days even. Some of these claims have some truth in it but most of them don’t – if it is true, most probably you will undergo intense starvation, sudden extreme work-outs, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. because of the things necessary to finish the “program”. True, you will lose fat in just days but think of the negative effects in your over-all bodily health.

There are natural and unobtrusive ways to lost fat. Although the effects show gradually and slowly, you are assured that it is working and your health won’t be jeopardized in the process. Some of these natural ways include proper water intake, regular mild exercise and controlling of food intake. For proper water intake, you need to drink 10 to 12 glasses of water a day to promote healthy digestion. As for mild exercise, walking around the park with your dog for an hour or two will do the trick. Lastly, food intake control doesn’t mean starvation. It only means that you eat meals properly – at the right time, the right proportions and the right kind. With these three, you can lose weight while feeling good.
