The following are some common juices that are usually found on the market.

· Beet juice, for one, has a lot of sugar. It contains plenty of vitamins as well. This includes vitamins C, B1, and B2. Beet juice also contains a lot of iron, manganese salts, and potassium. It helps reduce insomnia and stress and it is also highly advisable for people who are overweight. On the flip side, beet juice has harmful compounds that can only be destroyed if it is exposed to the air. That is why it is important to keep the juice in the fridge for at least two to three hours. Make sure you store it in an open dish.

Some people cannot tolerate beet juice. They may feel dizzy when they drink it. Other adverse effects include vomiting, feelings of general weakness, and heart palpitations.

· Another common type of juice is tomato. It stimulates the body’s own metabolism. Its most common benefit is that it is known to reduce the risk of some cancers, such as prostate cancer. It is best for pregnant women or those who are breastfeeding their babies. Intake of tomato juice is highly advisable at least half an hour before a meal. This way, it helps to digest the food.

The adverse effects of tomato juice are also due to its benefits. If you have pancreatitis or a gastric ulcer, tomato juice is not advisable for you. Its capacity to digest food fast will make your ulcer or pancreatitis even worse.

· Pumpkin juice is another common juice we make at home. It is always available on the market. It is great for people who have liver, heart, and kidney diseases and it is also good for people with insomnia. Drinking a glass of pumpkin juice before bedtime will help you sleep.

· Apple juice has many health benefits and contains many minerals, including calcium, magnesium, zinc, cobalt, and nickel. It is not recommended, however, if you have a peptic ulcer, gastritis or pancreatitis.
