Will yoga help me to lose weight?

Yoga will, without a doubt, help you lose weight. If you are looking to start a weight loss routine, yoga should be among the things you decide to do exercise wise. One of the great things I loved about doing yoga was that after I got into the habit of it, and got used to putting my body into ways never before thought possible, I could handle it on an almost daily basis. If you are someone like me who was keen on finding out how to lose weight in 2 week (I had a trip down to Dominican to plan for after all), yoga was a great alternative to running for this reason alone.

More of a Cardio workout than you might think

For those who have never completed a yoga session before, I say to you: you have never experience the best all around workout. Yoga gets a label of only being good for flexibility, and although it definitely has that, it has so much more. All it will take is one attempt and you’ll quickly realize the benefits of yoga in losing weight. Be prepared to work, and make sure you bring a towel.

It’s much easier than you think

I used to run all the time when I needed to lose weight. If I needed to shed an extra 10 or 15 pounds after the holidays, I would brace myself against the harsh winter weather, lace up my runners, and hit the pavement. This got very old very fast. The great thing about yoga is that it’s indoors. This coupled with the fact that it’s just as inexpensive as running is, makes it an excellent tool to use for losing weight. All I needed was a mat and a pair of cheap yoga pants and I jumped right in.

Bottom line is that if you’re looking for a great all around workout that will help you lose weight and get in the best shape of your life, I recommend at least giving yoga a try.
